Marketplace Director

We’re looking for a full-time Marketplace Director to join our growing digital team to help us shape the future of our digital platforms. 

 

Working closely with the CEO/CDO/CRO, this person will own the roadmap for a next-generation digital platform, integral to the ACBM brand portfolio.  The technology we are building into this platform will exponentially grow audience engagement, enhance first party data, support new advertising-based revenue streams, AND will act as a catalyst towards staged emerging revenue products through community.

 

This person will oversee product vision, UI/UX, technical development, platform data management, integration with content partners, and internal/external development teams to build and maintain the platform from MVP to robust ecosystem. 

 

We’re looking for someone who has previous digital product management/development experience and, ideally, has helped bring to market a B2B custom marketplace or custom application environment.  Platform skillsets can also include content, database environments, virtual events, ecommerce, online education, digital community, video, or livestreaming monetized through subscription, advertising, ecommerce, or affiliate revenues.

 

Experience within the construction, landscape, heavy equipment, automotive or similar industries is an added plus.

 

Must Have Experience:

  • Digital Product Management Experience, (Ideally managing an ecommerce platform and/or CMS)

  • Has built and managed the launch of an ecommerce marketplace (Ideally B2B)

  • Experience conceptualizing, building and mapping platform/application UI/UX

  • Experience with content and CMS production workflows

  • Experience with content and content marketing, ideally with video & social

  • Experience building and monetizing subscription and advertising digital products (Affiliate monetization a bonus)

  • Experience working with API’s and knowledge of using API platforms to extract, load and transform data into visual experiences

  • Experience working with databases, analytic dashboards and data extraction

  • Knowledge/experience working with the evolving CMS options available (Wordpress, Drupal, custom CMS’s, etc.)

  • Knowledge/experience working with marketplace software (Woocommerce, Magento, Cs-cart, mirakl, Shopify, etc.)

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Ownership of marketplace platform vision which includes oversight of the product development tech stack, development requirements, software, data partners, platform features and vendors

  • Ownership of the marketplace platform UI/UX, products, content and overall front-end product to ensure an engaging experience

  • Day to day technical lead that can build, connect and manage all elements, API’s, customer data, content and product data withing the platform  

  • Storyboard, map, ideate and build the front-end UI/UX of the new platform features

  • Work with senior leadership to select the platform technologies and custom development vendors

  • Owner of the platform KPI’s which include first party data, buyer metrics, seller metrics, analytics and overall growth metrics

  • Day to day resource to collect/sync/update and connect data, products and content in the platform

  • Developing and delivering an annual platform content calendar that will engage the audience and draw in buyers, sellers and advertisers

  • Collect and implement all design, graphical elements, product details, multimedia, video, data into the platform

  • Manage future Partner Coordinator team to collect and implement all design, graphical elements, product details, multimedia, video, data into the platform as we grow

  • Work with editorial teams and editorial leadership to ensure a steady flow of content is published and promoted within the platform and beyond: social, newsletter, websites, etc

  • Working collaboratively with other editors, sales, graphics, and marketing teams

  • Managing platform performance through various reporting tools to consistently learn what is and isn’t working

  • Implementing creative new approaches to grow the platform

  • Traveling to cover tradeshows and events (10%)

 

We’re also looking for:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business/marketing or related field OR relevant experience

  • Minimum five years in a product management, development, ecommerce or marketing role
