Multimedia Designer

Summary:

The Multimedia Designer is responsible for the conceptual creative design and subsequent assembly of content appearing in print media publications, digital media, and collateral products. This position will be engaged with multiple properties and will be responsible for maintaining a recognizable graphic synergy across the various media products associated with the parent brand. In this position the Multimedia Designer will work both independently as well as collaboratively with the Creative Director and other associates across the organization.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conceptualize, design and produce sophisticated and engaging trade print publications as well as media-rich digital products.

  • Effectively implement strong type sensibility and demonstrate an excellent aptitude for visual story telling.

  • This position is also responsible for the creative design of special publications, video/podcast editing and collateral marketing materials to support the various business products (print, digital, event) across the franchise.

  • Keep abreast of trends in magazine publishing and digital design, new developments in graphic arts technology, and the creative direction of competitive titles.

  • Exhibit a self-starter approach to the myriad design projects which arise.

  • Collaborate with publisher, editors, marketing and sales staff in their effort to deliver compelling products.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS in graphic design, multimedia digital art, or similar

  • A background in publication design is a plus.

  • Good project management and time management skills.

  • Must be organized, detail-oriented with the ability to take the initiative to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

  • Will be service oriented, a self-starter, hardworking, proactively collaborative, able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate a positive attitude when balancing their own personal visions with the input and perspectives of colleagues.

  • Proficiency in Adobe (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Acrobat) and MS Office is essential. Knowledge of Premier, After Effects, Audition, HTML, CSS, Webflow and interactive design tools preferred.
